Hans Op de Beeck

Hans Op de Beeck - Sea Of Tranquility

"The exhibition 'Sea of Tranquillity' includes, besides a mid-length movie, also a large sculptural scale version of the imaginary ship ('Sea of Tranquillity (model)'), two life-sized dummies representing the captain ('Captain') and a chambermaid ('Chambermaid'), a huge model evoking a shipyard ('Shipyard (sleeping containers)'), a series of large black-and-white watercolours, and several props.
As such, 'Sea of Tranquillity' is a broad project dealing with utopia, history, economics, sociology, meaning and our problematic age of false values, improper categories and unethical relationships. It has a complex and poetic charge, but also presents a touch of irony regarding the superficial, safe and unimaginative leisure opportunities that are on offer on board the ship."

 Stratis Vogiatzis - Inner World
"Inner World contains 54 images of inner spaces at the mastic villages of Chios. The material includes abandon houses and living houses that demonstrate with the most emphatic way the way the people used to live many years ago."  (txt: http://www.stratisvogiatzis.com/blog)

"Eelco Cornelis de Vries: mijn installaties zijn samengesteld om de psychische betrokkenheid bij fysieke ruimte inneming te onderzoeken. Door suggestief met aan- en afwezigheden te spelen, probeer ik de beleving van de toeschouwer eigen te maken en vorm te geven. De wijze waarop de werkelijkheid zich tot de beleving ervan verhoudt, vormt hierbij het uitgangspunt" (txt via haagsekunstenaars.nl)

Yvonne Lacet

Yvonne Lacet - Movements of a City (2010)

"Starting point of this project is the ever-changing urban environment. Places where things are constantly built, demolished and rebuilt. Places where old and new merge in extraordinary ways. By creating transparent paper sculptures of buildings and their surroundings during different periods in time, thus creating locations that are, that will be or that have been, I want to map different eras of a city in a single image. By layering the transparent sculptures you will be able to see the vague shadows of many faces of the city through time." (txt: Yvonne Lacet

Roseanne Lynch

Roseanne Lynch - Document

"Roseanne’s practice looks at qualities of photography and how the photographic process affects the looking, and therefore the interpretation of a subject is an on going interest. Recurring themes of light, truth, perception and representation, uncertainty and the understanding held within the unknowing are her areas of exploration." (txt: Roseanne Lynch)
