Anti-blob

"OMA/AMO en Rem Koolhaas presenteerden gisteren een nieuw en verplaatsbaar paviljoen voor de Prada Foundation. Het is opgebouwd uit vier stalen constructieve elementen - een cirkel, een zeshoek, een rechthoek en een kruisvorm - die in een tetraedische vorm bij elkaar komen. Vervolgens is een 'zachter' gevelmateriaal om deze constructie heen getrokken. De vier elementen kunnnen elk de plattegrond zijn van dit 'Transformer'-paviljoen, dat daartoe in vier posities kan worden gekanteld met behulp van een kraan. Het paviljoen wordt in april op ware grootte gepresenteerd in Seoel, de hoofdstad van Zuid Korea. In zijn presentatie, op video te zien op de website van het paviljoen, stelde Koolhaas dat wat hem betreft dit ontwerp mede een reactie is op alle hedendaagse blob'-vormen. Hij noemde Transformer dan ook de 'anti'-blob." (tekst: De Box)
